HISTORY

1980 – Foundation of inpeco
The company is founded in 1980 by Dr. Gian Andrea Pedrazzini, a Ph.D. in Physics of Milan University. Dr.Pedrazzini gained his postdoctorate experience in CISE, Segrate, a leading R&D institution reputed for its advanced R&D in the fields of electronics and computer sciences, with a responsibility for the development of the Italian program of nuclear reactors. Originally intended as a pure development operation, success quickly led to inpeco producing its own instruments and OEM products for laboratory automation and environmental analysis.

1980-1990 – Background technology.
inpeco gained experience as a C (Contract Research Organization) in the fields of robotics and data acquisition and treatment, but later concentrating its activities mainly in the area of Life Sciences for the pharmaceutical industry (HTS - High Throughput Screening) and automation for the clinical chemistry laboratories.

1989-1994 – Development of new automation platforms
inpeco worked on research and development of new automation technologies. Input Requirements for the new products have been obtained through a close collaboration with partners, in the filed of mechanics, electronics and software development, while R&D was achieved through a collaboration with several leading university institutions, such as the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory of San Raffaele University Hospital (HSR) in Segrate, Milan and the Department of Biomedical Science and Technology of Milan State University.
