ProTube Suite - Inpeco
ProTube is the smart unit for the collection phase. This easy-to-install device assists phlebotomists in the draw phase by detecting manual errors at the blood collection point.
It ensures positive patient identification, correct blood tube selection (tube length and cap color) and optimal order of blood draw. It applies perfect tube labels in front of the patient and - after the draw - it checks out individual containers by reading barcodes, assesses process compliance and records the time of collection.
With ProTube, labs obtain high-quality blood samples that make them compliant with regulatory requirements and allow them to obtain the strictest clinical laboratory accreditations and certifications.
It is the ideal solution for outpatient settings such as Blood Collection Centers, GPs and Outpatient Clinics, Ambulances and Occupational Health Mobile Units.
- Reduction of pre-analytical errors
- Multiple Positive Patient ID methods, biometrics included
- Compliant with Lab Quality requirements and Standards
- Perfect label application
- Reduction of non-value-added activities by phlebotomists
The ProTube components
You can tailor the composition of your ProTube station to your specific needs by combining various add-ons around the central engine
The desktop reader unit can be bundled in various configurations to meet the needs of small to large collection centers.
Its scanner can read Health Cards, prescriptions, barcodes and biometric IDs; the small printer generates specimen labels for non-standard containers; the easy graphic interface offers real-time visualization of the preparation process, thus guiding phlebotomists in the process (e.g. suggesting number of inversions based on tube type; allowing to enter patient data during blood collection if needed; alerting at right time for glucose curves).
This convenient handheld device provides all the guidance for safe and secure blood collection at the Point of Care.
It uses real-time 4G, Wi-Fi, NF Communication protocols to update worklists and identify patients. Its portable Bluetooth printer produces labels to be manually placed on the containers. After the draw, ProTube mobile checks out individual containers by reading barcodes, checking process compliance and recording the time of collection. The hardware has IP68 rating, so it is water, dust & shock resistant. It has a powerful battery and can be used with Dual SIM.

This powerful IT platform aggregates real-time data from all connected devices and allows full process traceability.
Analytix offers customized reporting (graphs and KPIs) and Business Intelligence indicators, to understand how decisions effect outcomes. It tracks the full history of the samples (who, when and what) and traces every single event in the process. It displays relevant information and highlights actionable insights – for an overarching control of the Total Testing Process, including all the steps during collection, transportation and until reaching the Lab.
ProTube can be mounted on a battery-powered cart, for easy moving in hospital wards or rooms where collection is needed (ED, ICU, …), thus bringing the highest levels of security and traceability of specimen collection to the bedside.
ProTube Shuttle is wirelessly connected to the central control server. Once the patient ID is recognized (wristband or any other identifier) the device retrieves the order and guides the healthcare professional throughout the process. ProTube Shuttle can be mounted together with other bedside monitoring tools.
